KENT STATE UNIVERSITY; The Center for Public Administration and Public Policy.  Director, Fall 1978-present.

URBAN UNIVERSITY PROGRAM.  Representative for Kent State University, 1979-present.

F.A.I.R. PROGRAM; Faculty in Residence, 1978-1997.

NORTHEAST OHIO CENTER FOR THE ADVANCEMENT OF LABOR/MANAGEMENT COOPERATION.  Co-Director, 1986-1991.

MICHIGAN MUNICIPAL LEAGUE. Research & Publication, 1973-1977.

Technical Assistance Projects:

Projects have been developed for cities, villages in Northeast Ohio.  Examples include:  personnel system development; classification plans; compensation and pay survey; employee handbooks; assessment centers for employee selection, promotion and development; city council retreat; executive recruitment; and charter amendment, revision and development.

Capacity Building and Training Programs:

Training programs have been developed for elected and appointed municipal officials in Ohio.  Examples include:  Elected Officials Program; Small Cities and Counties: A Guide for Policy Making; Career Development for municipal clerks and Advanced Academy; Ohio Public Finance Officers Training Program and Maintenance Program; Effective Supervisory Training and Advanced Supervisory Training; Mayor’s Court Clerks of Ohio.  Work with the Ohio Municipal Clerks Association on their program for certification.  Work with the Municipal Treasurers Association on their program for certification.

MPA Faculty Member and MPA Internship Coordinator:

Internships are structured around outreach and service projects for municipalities.  Graduate courses taught include:  Municipal Government and Administration; Public Agency Management.

Management Skills:

Manage a staff of eight associates and a $206,000 budget per year.  Coordinate and fund all Urban University Program Faculty Research at Kent State University.
