Statement

Phillip works within the tradition of painting as an exploration of philosophical issues.  His work with the complexity of lived experience reminds us that phenomenal experience is so full that we are always engaged in the process of interpretation.

Biography

Phillip Buntin is originally from Atlanta where he received his B.Sc. in Psychology and B.F.A. from Kennesaw State University and the Atlanta College of Art.  Phillip made the move to Connecticut to study and received his M.F.A. in painting and drawing from the University of Connecticut in 2001.Recipient of numerous academic fellowships while receiving his degrees, Phillip has gone on to establish himself as an artist of note.  Declared by Dr. Jerry Cullum of Art Papers and Art in America “as a significant newcomer” in the art world, and published in NY Arts Magazine.
