“I sincerely believe that visual art and music are inextricably tied to together. Both disciplines share a common lexicon. Painters and musicians both describe their creations in terms of coloration, form, harmony, composition, tonality, rhythm,
texture, and movement”

Celebrating our 100 years, the Centennial Alumni Exhibition: Firsts, will highlight the work of alumni from the School of Art and VCD. Our guest juror, Dran Tranberg, an Adjunct Faculty of the Visual Art and Technology at the Cleveland Institute of Art and an Art Critic and Weekly Columnist for the Plain Dealer, selected the works of thirty-five alumni for the first of two exhibitions representing graduates from the 1960s. ‘70s and ‘80s. The second exhibition, scheduled for January 2011, will feature the work of later graduates.
