The School of Art at Kent State University is one of the largest and most comprehensive university art departments in the state. It offers the only MFA program in northeast Ohio.

Located in the heart of Northeast Ohio, the university is surrounded by cultural resources: Cleveland is a mere 35 minutes away, Akron only 15 minutes to the west, Youngstown is forty-five minutes to the east, and the cities of Pittsburgh, Columbus, Toledo and Detroit offer further visual arts resources for easy day-trips.

Special programs for area children to study art, for bringing guest and resident artists to the Kent
Campus, and for travel-study both domestic and international are highlighted here.
