KSU Undergraduate Research, Scholars Program for Research, Scholarly and Creative Activity

Did you know that you could win an award of up to $500 to carry out research, scholarship or creative work?  What qualifies? 

Work that will “significantly enhance your academic experience and complement that of your faculty mentor.”

Awardees are required to participate in next year’s Celebration of Scholarship (September 2008).  No awards will be made for work that has already taken place

Supported activities:

  • conduct of research, scholarship or creative activity (materials, supplies, travel to support these activities). No support for computer equipment.  Hourly wages only if credit is not already being awarded for same effort.

  • Publication and dissemination of results of the above

  • Travel for research or presentation of the above

Verder Hall Artist in Residence Program

Applications for 2008-2009 now being accepte; deadline: Weds., 2 April, 5pm.

Three artist-in-residence (AIR) positions are available next year for advanced undergraduates or graduate students interested in working with Verder Hall residence, many of whom are majors in the College of the Arts or Architecture or Visual Communication Design and who have studios in Verder Hall.

The Department of Residence Services seeks applicants who are mature among their peers, capable of handling responsibility, and have demonstrated academic ability. They should be able to relate to students from a variety of cultural backgrounds and lifestyles. Sensitivity to students’ growth and developmental needs in the University and residence hall settings is considered essential.  AIR applicants must serve as a positive role model for Verder Hall residents.


Applicants must have at least a 2.50 GPA and junior status in their major at the time of application. Applicants must also be enrolled as full-time students and major in one of the following: Fashion Design,  Advertising, Fine Art, Art Education, Crafts, or Interior Design.
