     John is in his 26^th year at Kent State University as Head Athletic Trainer with additional responsibilities added in 2001 with a promotion to Assistant Athletic Director: Medical Services.  Athletic Training education includes teaching athletic training specific courses at Kent State University since 1982 and supervising clinical education experience since 1980.  Prior experiences as an Athletic Trainer include 3 years as an Assistant Athletic Trainer at Ball State University, 1 year as a Graduate Assistant at West Virginia University and a stint with the Philadelphia Eagles Football Club.  Education includes: undergraduate degree from Ball State University and masters degree from West Virginia University.  Presently serving on the NATA CUATC (College/University Athletic Trainers Committee) as the District Four representative and have had previous national and state committee service with the NCAA, NATA, OATA and USA Wrestling.  He was the recipient of the Robert Gunn Scholarship in 1975, the 2000 College Athletic Trainer of the Year by the OATA, and the 25 year service award by the NATA and the same award by Kent State University.
