Michael was born and raised in Mansfield,
Ohio. He graduated from Bowling Green State University with
a Bachelor of Science in Health Promotions and a minor in Athletic
Training. In 1998, he attended Kent State University as a graduate
assistant athletic trainer working specifically with football and
baseball. He was able to continue his career there as an assistant
athletic trainer working directly with women’s basketball and football
teams. Michael also is in charge of operation and administration
of all participation clearances including mailings, scheduling of
medical staff and teams, and review of paperwork. In addition to these
duties Michael oversees the gymnastics and golf teams as well as
assisting with all other varsity sports.
Michael teaches a
Principles of Athletic Training class, the internship in athletic
training class and will begin teaching a Practicum course in the fall
semester of 2006. He helps students with various tasks to show their
competency level in order to work within the clinical environment.
Michael has always been intrigued by people and the human body. Along
with his love of sports, this guided him to the career of athletic
training. He enjoys the challenge of being a part of an individual’s
well being and overall health care. A long term goal includes becoming a
head athletic trainer at a Division I collegiate institution.
