Band Day Changes for 2008

The Kent State University Marching Golden Flashes will not be holding their traditional "Band Day Extravaganza" this season.  Instead, we are pleased to announce two alternate performance opportunities for high school band directors to give their students a glimpse of the college band experience.

The first performance experience is closely related to our traditional "Band Day."  The Kent State University Marching Golden Flashes will be performing on the field at the Patriot Bowl with several area high school bands at Cleveland Browns Stadium on Saturday, August 30, 2008.  If you are a high school band director interested in giving your students the opportunity to be a part of this event please contact Mr. Scott Curfman at hcurfman@kent.edu or call the band office at (330)672-5215.  We would love to have your band perform with us.

We would also like to extend an invitation for area band directors to enter their bands in the Kent State University Homecoming Parade on Saturday, October 11, 2008.  Interested directors should contact Mr. Curfman by phone or email.  We will communicate more specific information to interested directors as the details of this parade are finalized.
