Faculty: Ronald Phillips - bassoon

Ronald Phillips, assistant principal bassoon, joined The Cleveland Orchestra in 1960 and retired in 2002. Previously, he was a member of the Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra, United States Navy Band, and the New Orleans Symphony. He began his bassoon studies at the age of 13. Before attending the Eastman School of Music, Mr. Phillips studied with George Goslee (then principal bassoonist of The Cleveland Orchestra). Other teachers included Vincent Pezzi and Schoenbach.
