Overview
The Career
Services Center at Kent State University can help you locate employment
opportunities both on and off campus. To locate jobs off campus, search our Flash Forward recruiting system and contact the employer directly. To work on campus you need to first complete the appropriate paperwork.
If you have never worked on campus, you must:
- Personally
report to the Career Services Center's Student Employment counter
with two forms of I.D. Some examples of acceptable documents include:
a Kent State University photo I.D. or driver's license and
an original Social Security card. The list of accepted documents is available for your reference if you are unable to bring the documents listed above.
- After proper
I.D. is established, you will be required to complete employment
forms including city, state and federal tax forms, the Form I-9
for Employment Eligibility Verification, and the Public Employees
Retirement System (PERS) waiver and/or contribution forms. Then
you will be given a Student Appointment Form that your employing
department will complete for you.
- Locate on campus position
openings in our Flash Forward recruiting system and contact campus employers
directly to apply for position openings. The Student Appointment Form
should accompany you to each individual interview. Once you have accepted
a position, give this form to your employer. Your employer must complete
the appropriate section and return the form to Career Services before
you begin work.
