Kent State University employs over 5,000 students annually within
the eight campus system. Each year the National Student Employment Association
declares the second full week in April "National Student Employment
Week." During that week, the Career Services Center hosts the Student
Employee of the Year Awards Reception to recognize the University's
outstanding student employees.
Department supervisors can recognize their outstanding student employees
by submitting a nomination form by the end of the first week in February.
Nomination forms are generally distributed to departments in December
by the Career Services Center. Student nominees are nominated based on
their reliability, quality of work, initiative, professionalism, and uniqueness
of contribution.
Departmental employers are invited with their student nominees to attend
the Awards Reception during the second full week in April. Contributions
from departments as well as contributions from off-campus employers are
solicited to provide monetary awards to the student nominees.
