On the Map:

Kent State University is located in Kent, Ohio, and is easily reached from all points in Northeastern Ohio. The University fronts Route 59 and can be reached from Interstate 76 to the south and from the Ohio Turnpike to the north.

  • From Cleveland: Take Interstate 271 south to I-480 east to Route 14. Proceed southeast on Route 14 to Route 43. Turn right onto Route 43 to Kent.
  • From Pittsburgh and Philadelphia: Take the Pennsylvania Turnpike to the Ohio border. Proceed on Ohio Turnpike to I-76. Follow I-76 west toward Akron. Turn north onto Route 43 (Exit 33) to Kent.
  • From Columbus and Cincinnati: Take Interstate 71 northeast to I-76. Proceed east on I-76 to Route 43 (Exit 33). Follow Route 43 north to Kent.
  • From Buffalo and Erie: Proceed west on Interstate 90 to I-271. Turn south on I-271 to I-480; follow I-480 east to Route 14. Turn right onto Route 43 to Kent.
  • From Chicago and Detroit: Proceed east on I-80 to Route 14 (Exit 187). Take Route 14 southeast to Route 43. Turn right onto Route 43 to Kent.

The Department of Chemistry is located in Williams Hall and in the attached Science Research Laboratory building on East Summit Street. Visitor parking is available in the pay parking lot just to the west of Williams Hall or in the R-5 parking lot to the east of the Science Research Laboratory building. Entrances to both lots are located on East Summit Street. Visitors wishing to use the R-5 parking lot must obtain a single-day permit from the Chemistry Department main office.
