Undergraduate Advising

Below is a list of Kent Campus faculty who serve as undergraduate advisors for the Justice Studies Bachelor’s degree programs. After you declared your major or minor in the College office, you should have gone to the JUS department to fill out some forms and be assigned a faculty advisor in JUS.

·        If you have not declared your major or minor, do so at the College office in 105 Bowman (330-672-2062).  Contact the College to make an appointment.

·        If you do not know who your department (faculty) major/minor advisor is, stop by during normal business hours (8 am – 5 pm) or call the JUS department in 113 Bowman (330-672-2775).

·        If your JUS faculty advisor has left KSU, come by the department to choose a new advisor.

·        If you have questions about

The major or minor programs in Justice Studies, specific major or minor requirements, graduate school, or would like help choosing JUS classes or some career guidance, please see your JUS faculty advisor. We can also refer you to the KSU police academy (the LEEC).

·        If you have questions about

               any non-JUS course,

how close you are to graduation,

               a University requirement, or

LER’s (e.g., College General Requirements such as the foreign language), those are addressed by the College advisors in 105 Bowman, not your JUS faculty advisor.  (Financial issues should be addressed to the Bursar’s office.)  To reach the College of Arts and Sciences, make an appointment on-line, or call 330-672-2062.

·        Advising is important; seek out your faculty advisor in JUS for any questions on the department or its programs. It is the student’s responsibility to initiate these meetings. A sheet with faculty office hours is available in 113 Bowman Hall each semester. Explore the department web pages for additional information.

·        You may also find it useful to examine your academic progress through the KAPS System.  Log in to your Flashline account to find this resource.

Please contact the department for faculty’s office hours to determine availability each semester.
