Bruce E. Cain

Biography
Bruce E. Cain is Heller Professor of Political Science at the University of California, Berkeley, Director of the Institute of Governmental Studies there, and Director of the UC, Washington Center. His writings include The Reapportionment Puzzle, The Personal Vote, written with John Ferejohn and Morris Fiorina, and Congressional Redistricting, with David Butler. He has also co-edited numerous books, including Developments in American Politics, Volumes I - V, with Gillian Peele, Constitutional Reform in California, with Roger Noll, Voting at the Political Fault Line: California’s Experiment with the Blanket Primary with Elisabeth R. Gerber, and Party Lines: Competition, Partisanship and Congressional Redistricting, with Thomas Mann. Professor Cain has served as a polling consultant for state and senate races, and as a redistricting consultant to (among others) the United States Justice Department, Los Angeles County; San Diego Citizens’ Commission on Redistricting, and the City and County of San Francisco.
