Alan M. Rubin studies and teaches media uses and effects, political communication,
communication in an information society, and
research methods and measurement. His work has focused on media news and entertainment,
and personal involvement and parasocial interaction with media and media
personalities, audience aggression and newer communication technologies. Besides authoring/editing books on communication research, he has published more than
70
chapters and journal articles, and has been identified as a prolific researcher in
communication and mass communication. He is past editor of the Journal
of Communication and Journal of Broadcasting &
Electronic Media.
