Rebecca B. Rubin is currently researching and teaching in the areas of interpersonal
communication, communication competence, and personal and mediated communication. In
addition to developing assessment instruments and editing measurement/professional
monographs, she has published 2 textbooks and more than 50 book chapters and journal
articles. She has been identified as a prolific researcher, and her biography appears in a
volume highlighting important professional and academic women in communication, Women
in Communication: A Biographical Sourcebook. In 2000, she received the SCA Distinquished Teacher Award, a Graduate Student Senate Mentorship Award, and was a finalist for the University Research Award. Prior to coming to Kent in 1982, she
taught at Cleveland State University, University of Wisconsin-Parkside, University of
North Carolina-Greensboro, Georgia Southern College, and Messiah College.
