Student Organization Appreciation Reception, 6:30 p.m., 306 KSC

Senior student leaders at Kent State shared the skills they believe were enhanced by their leadership experiences:
Planning
Evaluating information and ideas
Making decisions
Problem solving
Setting realistic goals
Valuing personal integrity
Working cooperatively
Managing multiple tasks
Effective communication
Respecting diversity

“Before I started in this group I hated and feared public speaking. But being in this group we are often asked to speak about our position and why we think the way we do. I’ve learned to do that along with other skills acquired by public speaking.”

“Multi-tasking has always been a strong suit for myself but when dealing with an organization of 200+ members plus a board reporting to you its vital that you are always organized and prepared for almost any situation. Walking into any group or job from now on I know that I can handle anything put on my plate and do so without as much effort.”

“I have been able to meet people on campus that I otherwise wouldn’t meet, and I have joined more organizations as a result.”
