Online Writing Lab

In order to effectively aid you with your revision, your tutor will need some information about your paper and at least two questions you have about your text. Examples of questions could be the following:

"Is my thesis clearly stated?"
"How is my comma usage?"
"Do I have run-ons or fragment sentences?"

Please email only questions about your paper. Other questions about the Writing Center should be sent in a separate email with a different subject heading.

How can I email my paper to the OWL?
To send mail to a Kent campus OWL tutor, please email writing@kent.edu with the subject heading "[Instructor's Last Name] from [Your Last Name]".
FILE FORMAT FOR PAPER SUBMISSION

The OWL will accept files by e-mail attachment in the most current versions of Microsoft Word format and will utilize Word's comment function. When returned to the student, text that includes a comment will be highlighted in yellow. The comment may be read by clicking on the highlighted area.

Send your papers in MSWord, or the tutors will not be able to read them. MSWord can be purchased at the KSU Bookstore at a discounted price.
