E-Mail a paper to the OWL
(You must be a Kent State Student to submit a paper.)
Mission
At the ESL Online Writing Lab
(ESL OWL), tutors can consult with Kent State second language writers in almost
every discipline and at every level of education, from undergraduate to doctoral
students. We are willing to assist you at any stage of the writing process on
any writing assignment. We will not edit your work for you, but we can offer
suggestions for you to consider. Some things we can help you with are:
· Brainstorming how you will approach your writing;
· Shaping the focus of your writing;
· Revising and improving your writing, including organization and clarity;
· Using and documenting outside sources effectively;
· Strengthening different sections of your writing;
· And identifying and correcting your own sentence-level errors.

Tutors
ESL OWL tutors are graduate teaching assistants in the English Department who
are working on advanced degrees in either Teaching English as a Second Language
or in another English area. They are all experienced writers and writing
teachers, and they are interested in working with second language writers on
improving their writing processes and products.
