Scholarships (Fashion Merchandising Freshmen)
Eve T. Bissler Medallion Scholarship
Established in 2006
Awarded to an incoming fashion design or fashion merchandising
major. Requisite: 3.25 GPA. Based on SAT/ACT scores, competitive
exam. This scholarship is part of the Founders Scholars
Program. Semifinalists for each scholarship will be selected
to participate in the competition held in February. Students
must be admitted to Kent State by February 1st to be considered.

Wally
Naymon/Kilgore Trout Presidential Scholarship
Established in 1996
Wally
Naymon, owner of Kilgore Trout is a strong supporter of The
Fashion School and established this presidential scholarship
to help support merchandising students. This scholarship is
awarded approximately every four years because the recipient
typically retains it for four years.
The award is given
to the merchandising major with the highest GPA at the end
of the first semester freshman year. In the case of a tie
then the one who has the highest high school GPA receives
the award.
Students need
not apply for this award. Once the award is given the student
who receives it keeps it for up to four academic years IF
that student maintains a 3.0 GPA. Loss of the award then
leaves it open to be given to the next year's freshman.
