Lisa
Holland
Biography
joined the Chemistry Department
at Kent State in 1999. Her research is in the area of bioanalytical separations.
She develops prototype instrumentation and methodology for analyzing complex
biological samples in an effort to study molecular recognition as it pertains
to physiological dysfunction and drug discovery. Outside of the laboratory
and classroom Lisa enjoys soccer, weightlifting, running, and the shoe
department at Nordstroms.
Teaching
Project
Dr. Holland teaches a graduate class on chemical separations
as well as the chemistry LER for nonscience majors, "Chemistry in Our
World". Through the Teaching Scholars Program, she would like to incorporate
a web-based component that provides on-line quizzes for self-evaluation,
tutorials on classroom concepts and a video record of classroom demonstrations.
