Awards Forms top
Teaching Award
Given to graduate students who have demonstrated superior instructional skills while teaching a class, lab, or discussion group, or while assisting in one of these areas. This award has also been presented to individuals who strive to educate outside of the classroom setting…as in presenting programs, workshops, and the like.

Research Award
Given to graduate students who have demonstrated superior research skills while acting as a primary researcher or while assisting another in research endeavor.

Creative Achievement Award
Established to recognize the achievements of students in the creative arts where traditional measures of achievement may not be appropriate. This is sort of a "catch-award" to recognize the accomplishments of those who do not fit neatly into another award category.

Thesis Award
Given in recognition of the outstanding thesis in each academic unit. The selection process is up to each department, and the Graduate Student Senate does encourage departments to utilize their graduate programs committees. Furthermore, this is an award and departments are not obligated to make a nomination each year. Awards are eligible to students who complete the past Summer semester, previous Fall semester, or will be completing their thesis this Spring.

Dissertation Award
Given in recognition of the outstanding dissertation in each department. We seek to recognize those faculty members who go out of their way to mentor graduate students both professionally and academically. We invite both graduate students and faculty to nominate candidates to receive this unique honor.

Travel Forms top
General Travel Funding
The General Travel Fund is meant to help Kent State University's graduate students finance domestic and international travels related to their studies. Funding is guaranteed as long as the application and expense report are complete and submitted on time. The rate of reimbursement will be a percentage based on the total available funds divided by the total estimated expenditures requested by all applicants.
Please note: When applying, you no longer need an official copy from the Registrar's Office; a print-out from Web For Students is sufficient. Please make sure the print-out includes your name in it.

International Travel Grant
The goal of the International Travel Grant is to promote the professional and academic development of Kent State University’s graduate student population, to support diversity by giving students the opportunity to experience foreign cultures, and to extend Kent State University’s recognition on an international level by providing financial assistance. The InTraGrant is competitive; funding is not guaranteed. The deadline for InTraGrant Spring Travel applications is December 8, 2008.
