Alan M. Rubin
holds a Ph.D. from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
He studies and teaches media uses and effects, communication in an
information society, political communication, and research methods
and measurement. His research has focused on media news and entertainment,
personal involvement with the media, audience aggression, and Internet
use. Dr. Rubin has published about 100 articles, books, chapters,
and notes, testified before government agencies, and presented lectures
at universities, media organizations, and conferences in over 10 countries.
He has been identified among the top active researchers in communication.
He is a past editor of the Journal of Communication and the Journal
of Broadcasting & Electronic Media.
