Dr. Bakes holds a Ph.D. in industrial engineering from The Pennsylvania State University. Her research and teaching interests are in the areas of telecommunications technologies and services, including wireless communications, high speed local area networks, hybrid satellite/terrestrial networks, and ATM. Dr. Bakes has spent numerous summers as a Faculty Fellow at the NASA Glenn Research Center in Cleveland conducting research in the
field of telecommunications networks and their applications.
