Dr. Froehlich
holds a Ph.D. in Philosophy from Duquesne University. While his
research interests include curriculum development in Information
Science and emerging roles for information professionals, other
research interests include a philosophical framework for relevance
research and the foundations of the information professions in social
epistemology. The majority of his published work is concerned with
ethical and legal concerns in the information professions, evolving
in part from his philosophy background. Dr. Froehlich is a professor
in the School of Library and Information Science and teaches in
the areas of ethics, network and software resources, online searching,
and user interface design. He has given presentations or held seminars
and workshops in Austria, Brazil, China, France, Germany, Hungary,
Israel, Italy, Mexico, Poland, Portugal, Spain, Thailand, and the
United Kingdom, among others.
