Manfred van Dulmen is a developmental psychopathologist and interested in understanding the role of interpersonal relationships in the development of behavior problems during adolescence and young adulthood. He received his PhD in 2001 from the University of Minnesota. He currently studies the role of adolescent interpersonal relationships (family, peer, romantic) in (a) the development of adolescent-onset antisocial behavior and (b) explaining continuity and change in antisocial behavior from adolescence to young adulthood. In addition to understanding how relationship processes affect the development of antisocial behavior, he is also involved in research investigating (i) the adjustment of adopted children and adolescents and (ii) methodological issues (e.g. the use of multiple informants) in the study of change and continuity in behavioral development, and (iii) successful adaptation to young adulthood. He is the co-editor of the Oxford Handbook of Methods in Positive Psychology (2006)
