Dr. van Rahden, Professor of History at the University of Cologne, will explore languages of diversity in the Nineteenth and early
Twentieth Century, situating notions of diversity within the very language of uni-
versalism. He analyzes civil society’s fundamental duality —- its simultaneous tol-
erance and intolerance, its inclusive potential and its oft-contested exclusions.

Walk on Water
A hit man for Mossad is given the mission to track down the very old Alfred Himmelman, an ex Nazi officer, who might be still alive. Pretending to be a tourist guide he befriends his grandson Axel, in Israel to visit his sister. He wants to convince her to come back to Germany for their Fathers birthday party.
Time of Favor
Time Of Favor is a taut thriller about the tense relationship between the orthodox nationalists and the military. Both a politico-psychological drama and a love story between a passionate woman and two best friends, Time Of Favor raises important questions of faith to one's religion, duty to one's nation, and love for oneself. |

Please join us for a fascinating discussion of a moment of resistance against Nazi terror, when the gentile wives of Jewish men loudly demanded their husbands’ return — and succeeded. Professor Stoltzfus teaches twentieth century European history at Florida State University, and received his Ph.D. from Harvard University. His book Resistance of the Heart: Intermarriage and the Rosenstrasse Protest in Nazi Germany (W.W. Nor-ton, 1996) has been translated into French, German, Swedish and Greek. |

Join City University of New York Professor Dr. Michael Staub as he chronicles how much the Jewish student activism of the late sixties and early seventies really was less a rebellion against the so-called excesses of Black Power, and more an adaptation—even imitation—of Black Pride for a Jewish context.
