Microbiology Learning Center, Kent State University

The Microbiology Learning Center is designed as an adjunct to the traditional lecture-based teaching and learning of Basic Microbiology. The site unites microbiology faculty and students with the multitude of pedagogical, scientific, and human resources accessible through an interactive gateway. Faculty have access to core resources for teaching Basic Microbiology. Students have online access to traditional course information (lecture and laboratory syllabi, assignments, etc.), online library assistance and several unique resources (curricular outlines, images presented in class, tutorials, video clips etc.). Funded by OhioLINK, the site offers links to other Ohio institutions, libraries and resources capable of providing instructional support, clinical data or breaking microbiology news. Future pages will provide distance-learning capabilities utilizing real-time access to seminars, laboratory experiments and clinical sites. Contributions to the site are welcome.
