The Tarter/Miller Glass Collection

The Akron glass experts Jabe Tarter and Paul Miller made the second major gift to the Museum when they donated some 200,000 pieces of collectible glass. Selections from the collection are exhibited in the Tarter/Miller Gallery. A fascinating part of the Tarter/Miller collection is this Vaseline glass, so-called by contemporary collectors because of its yellow-green color. True Vaseline glass is transparent and fluorescent under ultraviolet light due to its radioactive 2 % uranium oxide content.
