Rockwell Hall
was fully renovated in 1985 into a state-of-the-art museum facility
with storage areas modeled on those at the Costume Institute of
the Metropolitan Museum of Art. The surfaces are chemically inert,
and the blinds allow air to circulate while protecting the collection
from dust and light. Temperature and humidity are controlled to
about 68-72°F and 50%RH. The storage areas are only lighted when
necessary and are protected by a carbon-dioxide fire suppression
system.
