Japan, second half of the 20th century
Furisode of white silk ground brocaded with gold threads in tortoise shell grid. Decorated with motifs of open and closed fans with dark green sticks, chrysanthemums, clematis, clouds and autumn grasses in paste-resist dyeing process called yuzen. Embroidered with couched gold daisies. Lined in bright red silk.
