this type of embroidery and mirror work decoration is from India,
probably from Rajasthan, ca. 1975
Cotton ground, cotton thread, mirrors, metallic ribbon
Rudi Gernreich is known to have worn this type of caftan. Another
similar one can be found in The Fashion Institute of Design &
Merchandising's Museum in Los Angeles
