China Water, Horst, 2002.
Brown, ivory and blue felted wool gown with waist sash.
A thin base of ivory is superimposed with thin stripes of blue on the lower part of the garment.


   

Tempest, Horst, 2002.
Wool felted gown in variegated shades of blue.
Thick locks of blue were hand-dyed and felted together to create an oceanic metaphor.


   

Symbiosis, Horst, 2002.
Long panels of felted wool, one in blue, red and brown and the other in yellow, red and brown, anchored on the body with a waist sash. Akin to Monarch (1), this garment brings to mind the brightly colored wings of butterflies. It also recalls the close association of dissimilar organisms found in the natural world.


   

Anemones, Horst, 2004.
Yellow felted wool multi-part bustier tufted with violet wool worn with a violet felted wool skirt with yellow-mouth tentacles.


   

Aflame, Horst, 2002.
Gown with a brown pre-felted wool base where individually dyed extensions in red, orange, yellow and ivory were first twisted by hand on one end and then felted to the base on the other.


   

Germanica, Horst, 2004.
Bustier and underskirt in felted wool the colors of which recall the German flag.


   

Monarch, Horst, 2004.
Black and orange felted wool bustier and skirt.


   

Wounded, Horst, 2003.
Red and brown felted wool coat with a lengthy train and extended sleeves.


   

Net, Horst, 2002.
Ivory felted wool gown with twine overlay.


   

Cocoons, Horst, 2003.
Ivory felted wool skirt with multi-colored spheres meshed on the base.


   

Bones, Horst, 2002.
Ivory felted wool wrap with chicken bones felted on the base and forming a wide array of patterns.


   

Moss, Horst, 2003.
Variegated green and brown felted wool bustier and corolla-shaped skirt.


   

Autumn, Horst, 2004.
Orange, brown, red and green felted wool dress with long train.

 

Coils, Horst, 2002.
Brown felted wool gown with appliquéd coiled yarn.
