Fabric for Bedding (Futonji)
Japan, late nineteenth century
Indigo-dyed cotton plain-weave decorated with paste-resist dyeing (tsutsugaki)
creating family crest (mon), crane, pine tree and bamboo motifs.
This specific seven circle crest
belongs to a Daimyo family on the island of Kyushu.
