Indigo 3 Series
Rebecca Cross, Oberlin, Ohio, 2006
The base is silk dupioni, screen-printed with acrylic pigment. The screen design was derived from enlarged
images of tracings from other shibori pieces which were placed on a light box. The top layer is silk organza,
shape-resisted (where the silk is tied or manipulated) and color-resisted in an indigo dye bath. The pieces are
hand embroidered with various threads.
