Hunter Green Wool Frock Coat

United States of America, late 19th-early 20th century
Although the square-fronted frock coat had re-appeared in the early part of the nineteenth century as an
informal garment worn as "half dress," by the time the coat in the pictures above was worn it had become acceptable
for the most formal "full dress" occassions.

The morning coat began it's life as an informal garment but by the time this suit was worn,
it had become permissible for "full dress."
