Purple Robe à l'anglaise (Dress)

England, ca.1780s
Iridescent silk with green woven stripes, brocaded floral sprigs and dots,
self-fabric trim and skirt draped à la polonaise. Worn as informal wear.
Bodice and sleeves lined with natural linen.

Satin exterior, layer of fine wool batting and natural linen interior.
