The Crane Roundel

The crane with it's wings outstretched and one leg raised is a symbol of longevity. This robe was made for a civil official because birds symbolized the rank of office. Surrounding the crane is a circle of flowers and geometric shapes. The outer circle is comprised of more flowers and butterflies. The butterfly is a symbol of summer and joy.
