2009-2010 Audition Information
Welcome to a brand new season of the KSU Orchestra! ALL undergraduates and ALL graduate students, both returning and new, are required to audition for a place in the ensemble this year.
Audition Dates & Times:
Monday, August 31, 9:00-11:00am, 2:10-4:10pm, 7:00-9:00pm
Tuesday, September 1, 9:00-11:00am, 6:00-9:00pm
Wednesday, September 2, 9:00-11:00am, 2:20-4:10pm, 6:00-9:00pm
Thursday, September 3, 6:00-9:00pm
Audition Location: Carl F.W. Ludwig Recital Hall
Audition Requirements:
- Scales
- Three octave for strings, two octaves for winds & brass
- Prepared material which displays your ability
- Two contrasting selections:
- A fast, technical section which demonstrates facility
- A lyrically expressive section of music
- Sightreading
Prepared material may be a complete movement(s), or excerpts, taken from solo works, orchestral parts, chamber music, etc.
Audition Tip: Arrive 15 minutes earlier than your time to fill out a Student Information form!
