
The Kent State University Wind Ensemble has been invited to perform as one of the two Showcase Ensembles at the 2008 Washington DC Band & Orchestra Festival at the Kennedy Center! In addition, Dr. Wayne Gorder, Director of the KSU Wind Ensemble will serve as an adjudicator for this prestigious event.
The members of the KSU Wind Ensemble will depart early on Sunday, May 4th, perform on Monday, May 5th, and return to Kent on Tuesday, May 6th.
The concert program will be as follows:

| Viktor Babin | Hillandale Waltzes for clarinet and wind ensemble Dennis Nygren, soloist |
| Wayne Gorder | Mystic Chords of Memory (based on the Lincoln 1st Inaugural Address) |
| Paul Hindemith | “March” from Symphonic Metamorphosis on Themes of Carl Maria von Weber |
