| The Center has a large collection of both instruments and recorded materials. These include: | |
| - A collection of Thai classical and folk instruments, some of which were used by an active Thai Classical ensemble. | |
| - A large collection of traditional Chinese instruments, which were used by a Chinese ensemble. | |
| - A strong collection of African instruments including drums, shakers, bells, and xylophones. These are used by an active African ensemble. | |
| - Various instruments including Japanese kotos and shakuhachis, a Korean kayagum, a complete Philippine kulintang ensemble, a Burmese harp, a msall collection of Turkish instruments, and a Balinese gender wayang quartet. | |
| - A collection of several hundred video tapes, many of which are field recordings. | |
| - A large collction of slides of instruments and performances from across the world. | |
- Collections of Chinese (Taiwanese), Korean, and Thai recordings on CD and tape.

| Equipment The Center owns a great dal of equipment available for student use that is pertinent to the field of ethnomusicology. This includes computer, audio and video equipment; field recording equipment (including a portable JVC DAT recorder); a dual-deck VCR; film editing facilities; and a DVD label printer. |
