Most items pertaining to the study of world musics are found in the Hugh A. Glauser Music Library, a division of the Kent State University Libraries. The Music Library, located in the Music and Speech Building, holds several thousand vynil discs, cassette tapes, compact discs and DVDs pertaining to world musics. While the Film Library in the Main Library includes many such items, the Music Library also holds several hundred video tapes, including the JVC Video Anthology of World Music and Dance.

The library also holds hundreds of monographs, reference works, and periodicals, and is developing a significant Afro-pop music collection in CD and DVD format. The library remains current in the field of ethnomusicology and world musics.
