The John Mack Oboe Camp
Continuing the Legacy

We begin accepting applications February 1, 2013.
June 7-14, 2013

The John Mack Oboe Camp, a weeklong series of master classes for oboists, has been meeting at Wildacres Retreat since 1976. Located near Little Switzerland, North Carolina, Wildacres is a place of supreme beauty, and is committed to advancing the arts, natural sciences, religion and the betterment of human relations. John Mack considered it his life's mission to teach music and his students now continue this tradition at the John Mack Oboe Camp. All classes are group classes with students performing standard etudes, solos, and orchestral excerpts. Admission is open to college-age oboists, professionals, teachers who desire a "refresher course" and a limited number of advanced high school oboists. A limited number of auditors will be accepted for a reduced fee.

There are two types of attendees: participants and auditors. Participants perform twice in the master class setting; auditors observe all classes and receive a 30-minute private lesson.

There are no auditions or tapes required
