The Ohio Employee Ownership Center of Kent State University has been involved in international activities since it was established in 1987. Our staff can work directly in Russian, Spanish, and Danish, and have effectively delivered programs in other languages through interpreters. We have developed training and outreach materials in Russian, Spanish, Hungarian, and Arabic. Our staff have either traveled to, hosted visitors from, or simply dialogued with people from Russia, Ukraine, Uzbekistan, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Lithuania, Hungary, Poland, Romania, Estonia, Denmark, Sweden, Finland, France, Belgium, England, Scotland, Ireland, Wales, Spain, Turkey, Chile, Colombia, El Salvador, Mexico, Venezuela, Argentina, Canada, Egypt, Bahrain, Bangladesh, India, China, Korea, South Africa, Australia, and New Zealand.


Our international work includes:

 

  • Developing training manuals and running train-the-trainer workshops for management education, as well as shop floor employee knowledge and skill building
  • Presenting at conferences on employee ownership
  • Consulting with governments and NGOs on employee ownership
  • Hosting study tours for groups interested in employee ownership, economic development, intersectoral collaboration, and even the US library system
  • Providing interpreting services for other organizations hosting Russians
  • Exploring an international employee ownership MBA program with a global group of educators
