Visitors flock to this small village, to see its 15th - to 17th century houses and and the impressive Chateau de Gruyères, seen here in the evening.  The main attraction is cheese.  Gruyère is one of the best known Swiss cheeses and you can visit a dairy to see how it is made.  Cows are an honored animal in Gruyères and the alpine horn is the musical instrument of choice.
