The Office of International Affairs coordinates the International Hospitality Program. The Program aims to foster relationships between Kent State University international students and scholars with members of the Kent State University campus or Kent community.  The program is designed to develop inter-cultural connections and build friendships between residents of the Kent area and residents of the greater global community. Interest is conveyed by completing an application and an attempt is made to match interests between students and hosts.

Connections are established initially through email with the intention that participants will interact within their homes or the community to have conversations, to share meals and experiences, and to build relationships.

International student enrollment at Kent State enhances graduate and undergraduate programs, generates revenue for the University as well as for the Kent community, and enriches the lives of those personally involved. Generally, over the past decade, Kent State has enjoyed a consistent increase of international student enrollment. This success has had many contributing factors including Kent State’s reputation as a high quality institution, the safety of the campus and community, improved international student advising and services, and efficient admissions processes.
