The Office of International Affairs provides assistance to students who wish to participate in a study-abroad program. We want you to have a successful experience. In addition to helping you identify and enroll in the KSU exchange program of your choice, OIA can:

▪  Provide forms to obtain a passport;

▪   Assist in obtaining a visa, if required;

▪  Issue you an international student identification card, and a Hostelling International Card (ISIC);

▪  Secure the required health insurance for you;

▪  Advise you of transportation options and, in some cases, actually arrange your air transportation; and

▪  Coordinate your academic program and arrival arrangements with the host university.

WHAT TO EXPECT FROM THE PARTNERSHIP UNIVERSITY

The assistance given to students varies by university. In general you can expect the host university to:

▪  Inform you of transportation options from the airport to the university.

▪  Advise you of housing options: on- or off-campus, or living with a local resident. Assistance may or may not be provided you in locating off-campus accommodation.

▪  Assist with class registration.

▪  Orient you to the host university.

▪   Provide you with a university contact to assist with unanticipated circumstances.
