Sharon Bell: On Translating Haitian Creole into African American vernacular

Fran Farmer, former Resident Director of Programs for Nigeria, Central and West Africa for the National Democratic Institute (2003-2006) will be visiting Kent State in the first half of October as a guest of the Department of Pan African Studies through the IAAA. Dr. Farmer has exensive public policy experience, including:

    • - Senior Policy Advisor, Office of Congresswoman Juanita Millder-McDonald (2006-2007)
    • - Program Director and Senior Regional Technical Advisor for Institutional Development, Pathfinder International (1993-2001) in Nairobi, Kenya
    • - Deputy Regional Director for Africa, Family Planning International Assistance (1989 - 1990)
    • - President, Operation Crossroads Africa (1984-1988) New York, New York
    • - Executive Director, Congressional Black Causcus and Caucus Foundation
