Research Interests

My research interests, broadly defined, fall into two areas: eating disorders and psychotherapy research. In the area of eating disorders, my interests include the topography and function of binge eating in bulimia nervosa and binge eating disorder, the role of familial factors in the etiology of bulimia nervosa, the nature of body image disturbance in women, and the impact of chronic dieting on the well-being of women. Psychotherapy research interests include the therapeutic alliance and client-therapist interactions as predictors of outcome.
