Research Interests

How do relationships help or hinder the ways individuals cope with stress?  My primary research interest revolves around understanding dynamic processes of intimate relationships with a focus on stress and coping.  Most of my research has concentrated on understanding the consequences and determinants of social support.  At Kent State University, I am collaborating with Professor Mary Ann Stephens examining the influence of spousal involvement on the Type-2 diabetes patients’ behavioral management, psychological outcomes, and physical outcomes.  I also have a methodological and statistical interest with emphasis on the analysis of dyadic daily diary data through multi-level models
